On 16-18 January, PARI participated in three sessions at the International Green Week in Berlin as part of the program “One World without hunger is possible” organised by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development at the IGW.
Reseachers from the Center for Development Research (ZEF) gave interviews on the role of innovation in agricultural development. Gebrelibanos Gebremariam (Ethiopia) shared personal experiences of rural life in Ethiopia and discussed the challenges and opportunities for combating hunger in Africa. Dr. Heike Baumüller (Germany) spoke about the use of mobile phones to improve agricultural productivity and food security among smallholder farmers.
Established in 1926, International Green Week is taking place for the 81st time in 2016. The IGW is a one-of-a-kind international exhibition for the food, agricultural and horticultural industries.
