Amy Faye and Friederike Schilling, both Senior Researcher at Center for Development Research (ZEF) presented PARI research outputs at Tropentag 2025.

  • Friederike Schilling presented a poster exploring how agricultural carbon markets can attract private investment to improve soil health, boost climate action, and make food systems more sustainable. The study examined twelve carbon farming projects in Kenya and identified different business models showing how projects are financed and managed. Link to the poster.
  • Amy Faye presented a paper on the uptake, profitability, and challenges of small-scale irrigation (SSI) in the Sahel, drawing on data from Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, and Senegal. The study distinguishes between farmer-led (FSSI) and non-farmer-led (NFSSI) irrigation, offering new insights into their respective profitability and dynamics. Link to Tropentag blog.
