National universities and research institutes across the Sahel countries, Center for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, and Agrhymet Regional Centre, Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS) have collaborated on a series of national cases studies and the regional synthesis report on Rural Development, Agricultural Livelihoods and Job Creation in the Sahel Region. The national case studies and the regional synthesis paper provide up-to-date knowledge and critical insights on the nexus of land degradation, climate change and energy in the Sahel region. They also identify policy entry points and investment opportunities that will help in advancing economic growth, food security, and job creation in the region. The purpose of this online event is to launch these national cases studies and the regional synthesis paper and discuss further steps for collaboration.
