In the past, the increased use of agricultural inputs and the expansion of cultivated areas have contributed significantly to increased production, but in the future the increase in sustainable productivity will have to play the central role in agricultural growth. An increase in sustainable productivity requires increased investment in research and development, agricultural education, organizational reforms such as partnerships with farmers, access to technology and good policies that support the right to food. This study focuses on measures at the strategic level, which as part of the special initiative “One World, No Hunger” tap the potentials of improvements in food security and sustainable agricultural growth.
